It never fails. Whenever the design team gives a presentation of their latest work – without fail – there’s some sort of reaction to lorem ipsum.
For those of you who are not familiar with lorem ipsum – it’s placeholder text. Meant to demonstrate what actually copy would look like in a design comp. It’s actually taken from Roman Philosopher Cicero’s writings and it’s in Latin.
The reason lorem ipsum is so important to your website design is that it indicates which text is going to be completely editable via your content management systems – in this case, our recommended CMS is WordPress.
So the next time you see a comp of your website design – that lorem ipsum is playing a couple of very important roles. It’s providing customers with some idea of how large blocks of copy will look on your site and it’s representing what is and will be editable when your website design becomes a real website.
