Yesterday we talked about three key areas that you need to address when grading your website.  Today, we’re talking about how it looks.

If you want to get an A in this subject your website should be visually appealing and easily read.

Visual appearance is pretty self explanatory – does it or does it not look good? On a scale of 1 to 10, what would you give the web design of your Fort Collins business website? Be honest with yourself on this one, your website may be the teacher’s pet (your favorite), but you will never objectively evaluate your web design unless you can be unbiased.

A Fort Collins website design that is easily read involves much more than the text that is found on each page. If your site is easily read, the viewers eyes should flow easily through the site in a pattern. They should not be overwhelmed by flashy images here and there which cause their eyes to dart around your website. It’s okay to have flash images, but don’t overdo it. Rank the readability of your site on a scale of 1 to 10. What did you score?

Now take those two numbers, add them together and divide them by 20. This will give you your percentage grade for this category. Did your Fort Collins website design get its first A?
