Fort Collins web design firm, Red Rocket Media Group was recently listed as one of the top 15 fastest growing companies in Northern Colorado. The Mercury 100 event, sponsored by the Northern Colorado Business Report, was held last week at Centerra to honor each of the top 100 companies.

Fort Collins web design has been growing steadily over the past decade. While even 5 years ago, web design comprised only about half of Red Rocket’s business, that share of business has been increasing each year. Initially, when the Internet first came around in the 1990s, most websites were little more than a very expensive brochure. But as with all technology, website development has evolved to include search engine optimization, social media, ecommerce, blogging, video, animation and more.

Web design in Fort Collins is no different than anywhere else except for the fact that Northern Colorado businesses are very tech savvy. While Fort Collins web design enthusiasts abound with classes graduating from CSU every semester, businesses in Fort Collins business owners have had to become more skilled at discerning the good from the bad. It’s a fact that 96% of all websites have never been read by anyone other than the website owner and the developer. That means millions and millions of wasted dollars each year on ineffective website design. For a great article on how to hire a web design company, check out the IBCC’s website.

According to the IBCC’s article, the 3 things to look for when hiring a web design company are:

  1. Do your homework
  2. Ask the right questions
  3. Know what to avoid

These points seem pretty straight forward but you’d be surprised how many businesses neglect to abide by these simple rules when choosing a web design company. I encourage you to read that article before you consider hiring a web design company to ensure that you don’t become one of the millions of companies who are disappointed with their website’s performance. Tomorrow, we’ll talk a little about why so many companies make the same mistakes again and again and I’ll reveal the #1 mistake that web designers make when creating websites.

Until then…
